Hi, I'm Dedicant Jackal.
When looking for other Druids online the most active sites that I have been able to find have largely been blogs. While there isn't necessarily much need for another Pagan blogging on the internet, I still see the value in community. And I still have a desire to add my own hat into the ring to see what I might find through this process of active journaling.
I have been active in Pagan spaces for the past twelve or so years, although I have been a casual observer of that world and dabbler in those books for as long as I can remember. I joined ADF around a year or so ago, if I recall correctly. I immediately embarked on the Dedicant Path upon joining - and got sidetracked by health issues and my own insecurities. After some even worse health issues I felt a calling to return to the Dedicant Path - and further, to aim for joining the clergy - which is what has led me to creating this blog along with the Tumblr of the same name, etc.
When I first set foot onto the Dedicant Path I started a book club that worked through one of the books on the list. I had grand notions of working through the entire list, but my aspirations were a bit loftier than what time and tide could handle. I still have a desire to work through the whole of the list, but I think now a wiser way to do that would be through sharing thoughts and impressions via a blog like this rather than through Zoom meetings that rely upon strict schedules. By providing a written record, people can comment upon it non-linearly and revisit what they need to when they need to. Through this, I can achieve my goals of both generating conversation about these books and readings as well as helping others through their readings to foster a deeper understanding of the material itself.
All Dedicant Path Book Club posts will be labeled and tagged as such. Other posts will also carry their own respective tags for the content within them. At a later date, after I've better established this journal, I will create a tag list here for ease of navigation should others find this and wish to peruse it. In the interim... I'm glad you're here, come stay awhile.
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions, comments, etc. that you might have.
Be lucky.
